Georgia Supercross DS

ATLANTA, GA (derailedonline.com) - Thomson/Maxxis Georgia Supercross was the second race this year took place at the wonderful Dual/Slalom course in Griffin, GA, constructed and maintained by local pro Chuck Pitts. Practice started around 9am in the morning to crisp cool air that progressively warmed up during the day. Due to the rains that came through the area on the previous Wednesday; the track was a little wet in some spots. I little pounding of tires and a lot riding got the track in A+ shape in no time. Turnout was decent given the conditions with seven people in amateur and nine in pro.

Qualifying started at 1:30 pm. A smooth qualifying run by all with Barry Nobles and Chris Herndon setting the two fastest times in the pro class. Racing got underway with some good match-ups between competitors. A few mistakes and a couple crashes took out some of the playing field.

In the end the final round of pro competition was between Barry Nobles and Chris Herndon. Close race that came down to Barry Nobles edging out Chris Herndon for the win.
