WATERLOO, WI (derailedonline.com) - At Trek's annual dealer only bike shot, president John Burke announced Trek's intentions to hold up the promise he made at the Taipei bike show. He announced Trek's new cycling support plan to put money and support back into the sport.
Trek bicycle dealers were urged to step up and support the new program: One World, Two Wheels.
Trek plans to donate cash to the trail defending organization International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA). They aim to pump at least $600,000 into IMBA over the next three years. Trek plans to do this with a cash-per-bike levy on their full suspension bikes. Bicycle dealers will soon be receiving materials to help promote this new program.
Trek also said that it will donate $1 per helmet sold to bicycle community friendly organizations.
