ROXBURY, N.Y. (derailedonline.com) - Last race of the year in the Plattekill Extreme Series,"Last Chance for Glory", was held this past weekend. Racers woke up Saturday morning to 4 inches of snow on the mountain. Saturday practice was not bad as temps got above freezing and there was traction in the snow and dirt. Sunday was a different story as during the night temps dropped below 20 degrees fahrenheit and on Sunday everything was frozen solid.
Despite the blue sunny skies with the Northern exposure of the mountain it was not going to melt on this day! Many sections of the Pro/Expert course were treacherous and after a meeting with the Pro/Expert riders it was decided that everyone would do their race runs on the Beginner course that was a bit more manageable but still quite challenging. Exciting finish to a great year of racing at Plattekill. Thanks to all the riders and sponsors for their great support and see you next year!

Practice photos are posted here. We will post race photos as soon as we get them.
