RXR Protect signs Australian DH wonder Will Rischbieth

LAKE ZURICH, Illinois (RXRprotect) - Everyone at RXR Protect is excited to announce the signing of rising young Australian Downhill star Will Rischbieth to the RXR Bike team. At 18 years of age, after numerous successes in U-19 competitions, Will, a native of Southern Australia, is turning pro and looking forward to a successful rookie season in the 2008 Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

Rischbieth, perhaps one of the most naturally talented youngsters in the world of downhill was diagnosed with a congenital defect in his back in 2004 (with symptoms similar to a permanent stress fracture in his vertebrae) and thought his sporting career was over. Less than 4 years later, this heartbreaking diagnosis has proven to be the catalyst in the 18-year-old's meteoric rise to the top of Australian and world mountain biking. Member of the 2007 Australian world junior men's team Will already counts a few titles including 2007 U-19 Downhill Australia champion, as well as 2007 UCI Oceania U-19 champion.
