ROXBURY, New York (derailedonline.com) - 2009 DH Mountain Bike season kicked off at Plattekill Mountain Bike Park past weekend. The weather was beautiful and the course was steep. The builders did a great job mixing man made features with natural steep Plattekill shale. The steepest part being a section called “Fall Line.” This separated the men from the boys. If you didn’t crash there at least once you weren’t going fast enough. Everyone agrees that this was a great course to start the season with.
Team LoweRiders Derailed did well this weekend with a win by Rod Haske in Cat 2 19-29 class. Geoff Ulmer threw down this weekend and pulled out a win by less than half a second. He was followed Closely by Chris Higgerson and Jamie Ford. Ford gave a surprise to everyone and himself. After recovering for a year and a half from his shoulder injury he returned to the podium in his first race back. Congrats to all the riders for a great weekend. See you on the trail next time.
