Mt Snow Kenda Fest

WEST DOVER, Vermont (derailedonline.com) - Mt. Snow is going back to their roots with this past weekend's event. We are seeing a Mt. Snow that hasn't been around for years. They brought back camping in the parking lot, beer for sale in the pits, and most of all a sick Down hill track... and yes I said "track," to make all the foreign world cup guys that attended the race happy. For those of you that were there, you already know that the "track" was one seldom seen on the east coast. Super fast!

It started under Lift Tower 11 and rocketed down the ski slope, with the first rock garden being a real wheel shanker at 40+ m.p.h. A quick hop over the infamous Orange pipe sending riders straight for EGO ALLY! This high speed section was super intense with two large drops in it and no corners. After a few small mud bogs the track cut into the woods for some flowy corners leading to the historic Yard Sale Rock Garden... (go around) No, even the new owners of Mt. Snow knew it would be a bad idea to send riders down that. The go around instead offered some pretty technical rocks and some a few orange spray painted ones to set your sights on. Also Saturday Team Loweriders Derailed had a 5th place podium by Ryan Nolan at the super awesome Red Bull 4X, while young Richie Rude took the win with convincing style.

Friday and Saturday were two beautiful days of sunshine, 60 degree temps, and a nice breeze to keep riders cool. Sunday however, the clouds came in for an overcast morning and unleashed their furry in time for the race. It misted cats and dogs, just enough to get the grass a little slick, however conditions stayed fairly sticky and kept the course super fun and fast. This is sure to be a race for everyone to put on their calender for next year!
