MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (derailedonline.com) - After eight races, the Gravity East Series is in the home stretch for the season finale at Plattekill in Roxbury, New York. The latest points standings have been compiled for both Downhill and Dual Slalom series.
In the Pro DH Men, Alejandro Ortiz stands in the number one slot followed by Benjamin Hulse and Jason Memmelaar, respectively. The points spread between the top five contenders isn't clear enough to say who will stand out at the end as the winner of the entire series so competition in the last three races will be important to the outcome of the series especially with the finals being a double points race. Stephanie Gubernat holds first with a decent margin over Dawn Bourque. Karen Eagan stands in third place. With the results thus far, it is not out of the reach of Dawn or Karen to possibly overtake the the number one slot if they continue to race the other events left on the calendar. For the top three women missing any event will be detrimental to their standings in the Gravity East Series. See the entire list for complete standings of all classes.
Slalom crown for the Pro Men is currently in the hands of Neko Mullaly with no signs of change. Following Mullaly in second and third positions are Brian Piper and Kyle Ebbet with a very tight race between the two with only a few points separating the two. For the women, Karen Eagan sets firmly in first with Lauren Daney and Kate Parhiala in second and third with a tighter race between the two. See the standings for the all the other classes.
