LAS VEGAS, Nevada (derailedonline.com) - With it's successful series in northern and southern California, the NorCal league has expenaded to a national organization. Announced at Interbike the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) has been established to promote and sanction MTB racing for the high school level.
This is a great step forward for the sport to get increased involvement in the sport to people at a younger age. Something that MTB in general lacks. Proven very effective in other sports with BMX being a prime example of the benefits of getting younger involvement and family involvement into a sport.
Matt Fritzinger founded the league in California during his time as a teacher in high school. He now has, with the help of several industry sponsors, established NICA. You can read more information on the their website.
