Chris Kovarik Wins Austrailia National DH Title
ADELAIDE, Australia (derailedonline.com) - Chris Kovarik wins the Australia DH National title for the fourth time as race favorite Sam Hill crashes just meters from the finishing line. Kovarik crossed the finish line to claim his fourth National title and his first title since 2002 ahead of race favorite Hill. Hill crashed just meters from the finish line but quickly grabbed his bike and crossed the finish line for a 5th place finish.

"Although it was pretty good, I wasn't really happy with the time. I was hoping to go two seconds faster than my qualifying time but I've just done the same time," Kovarik said.
"Hard luck to Sam coming off on that last corner and giving it to me. I was just watching the times and think he would have had it by half a second (if he didn't crash)."

A lot of attention was on the Under 19 men's race won by the rising Australian DH star Troy Brosnan of South Australia. Despite making mistakes, he blew away the field to capture the win ahead of Daniel Lavis and Aden Wyber.
Brosnan is touted as Australia's next big DH star and eyes are watching his performance as he competes this year on the Jr circuit.
