Red Bull Monte Descend
SANTA MONICA, Calif (derailedonline.com) - $10,000 in money and prizes are up for grabs to a dynamic duo that can do the most XC/DH relays in a 90 minutes time frame at Mont Tremblant.
On May 23, 2009, twenty-five teams of mountain bikers will hit Mont Tremblant for a two-hour race through the resort village, facing challenging obstacles such as jumps, stairs, ramps, trails and of course, the clock.
Tag…you’re it! Starting at 8pm, the downhill riders will tear through the village for the opening leg of the race, before tagging their teammate for the cross-country portion which races back to the top of the village. For the next two hours, they’ll repeat the route, racing against the clock and delivering fans some of the fiercest riding in Quebec. The team with the most completed laps will be crowned champ of Red Bull Monte Descend and take home a cash purse of $1,000. Second and third place teams will receive $500 and $300 respectively.
Each team must be composed of one mountain downhill rider and one cross country rider. Think you have the skills to compete? Registration is a first-come first-serve basis at www.tremblant.ca/activities/events/red_bull.
