HOWELL, New Jersey (derailedonline.com) - The annual Central Jersey BMX Iron Man Race this year added a 26" MTB Open class. This annual race closes out the Northeast BMX racing season and is held regardless of weather conditions and 196 riders in 50 motos showed up for this years event. While last years race was run on a cold and rainy day this year it was still cold but sunny for great East Coast December race conditions.
The MTB racers battled it out in the motos and semis to make the final 8 rider main event for the cash purse, winners jersey and prizes provided by the sponsors. Entrants included East Coast downhill legend Lars Tribus, Trek World Racing's American downhill star Neko Mulally and his younger up and coming brother Logan Mulally. Also racing to keep the MTBer's on their game was
Daniel Smith who was 2010 NBL Elite SuperX National # 4. In the main event Neko Mulally and Daniel Smith battled it out for the lead with Neko making a pass for the win in the rhythm section on the last straight!
Thanks to our sponsors Central Jersey BMX, NEMA, Gravity East Series, BTX Air Express and all the riders for a great day of racing!
Hope to see you next year for an even bigger event!
