2008 SoFA MiniDH Series
Derailedonline.com presents the SoFA MiniDH Series. The series is comprised of three races (June 7, October 5, and November 2) all held at the Ridgeway Recreation facility at Carters Lake in North Georgia. Racing will be in the traditional Pro/Am format* with the best of two runs. Cash purse will be awarded to the Pro class and awards to the amateur class.
Each race half of the entry fee for the pro class (minus insurance costs) goes toward the series final purse. Last race and series finals on November 2 and it will be double points.
Now with two trails, the Carters lake courses have been constructed over the course of two years by the SORBA Freeride Alliance (SoFA) group with official approval of USACE (US Army Corp of Engineers) that governs the park. All proceeds from the race go into SoFA's trail building fund to complete a minimum of two more DH runs at Carters Lake in the near future.

These are not NORBA sanctioned races and you will not be required to have a SORBA membership; however it is encouraged and you receive a discount on the entry fee. Since this is a USACE park, the rules of federal parks always apply - that means that each vehicle must have a pass and pay a day usage fee at the park. Envelopes will be made available at registration.

Fee and Schedule Information:
Open/Pro/Expert Class: $40 ($37 for SORBA members)
Amateur Classes: $30 ($27 for SORBA members)
Schedule for October 5th:
Practice begins at 9am. Registration also opens at 9am.
Race starts at 11:30am (circumstances could change start time - if so it will be announced before 11am)
Awards Ceremony follows the race within an hour of completion of all runs.

Upcoming Race Infromation:
Original posted date for the second race was incorrect. The race will be held on Sunday October 5th. The trail will be open for riding on Saturday the 4th, normal rules of Carters Lake use do apply on both days - i.e. don't forget to pay your day usage fee.
Pro purse will be paid three deep into the field with a 50/30/20 split of the total purse, respectively.

* Participation will dictate the breakdown of classes. The more participation the more classes that will be available, which could include a beginner class, womens class, and weekend warrior class.
